They were married at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor, Kansas, where Cecelia had been teaching. Every choice that they made about their wedding from the rosary Cecelia carried in her bouquet (a borrowed keepsake of her mother's) to consecrating themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was purposeful and meaningful. They ended their evening with a super fun reception at The Thompson Barn in Lenexa, Kansas. It was truly a blessing to be able to witness and capture such a beautiful day for such a lovely couple.

"Oh, look, make sure you capture that light," Father McDonald said as we were posing Seth and Cecelia in the sweet adoration chapel. The light. The most perfect light shining through the beautiful stained glass windows onto the feet of the new husband and wife.

John 8:12 says, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

Much like the colorful light beaming in on Seth and Cecelia's feet serves as a physical reminder of Christ's love and promises for us, their vow to join hands in Holy Matrimony conveys that same love and promise. A promise that they will never have to walk alone in the darkness.

"Make sure you get that light." The light of the world. Many prayers for Seth and Cecelia; that they may always feel the warmth of Christ's light on their marriage.

There were several unique things about their wedding that I really thought were so cool! Their guestbook was fabric squares they were going to have made into a quilt! Paige asked several of her and Justin's aunts to wear blue as her "something blue." I thought that was a special way to incorporate a tradition in a new and fun way!

At the reception, Paige came up with a fun way to entertain their guests that wasn't the typical "shoe game." There were a lot of laughs and we got to learn a lot about Justin and Paige!

Their venue was the cute, little rustic wedding barn at Barnes Acres. Surrounded by their loved ones, and their son Wyatt, they said their "I Dos." With only one person missing, Ashley's dad who recently passed away, was very much present throughout the day. During the father-daughter dance, a line of the men in Ashley's life stepped in to dance with her. During the mother-son dance, I learned that a boy will always need his mama and he's never too old to have her wipe his tears. It was truly a beautiful and heartstring-tugging day. I'm grateful to have been a part of it.

Jay and Cheyenne were married on April 9th in Blue Springs, Missouri, at a sweet little brewery called The Mill Room. They got ready at a nearby AirBnb, something that I have never seen a couple do before. It was super spacious, beautiful and relaxing, compared to other locations (i.e. the church nursery). We were also able to sneak away onto the streets of downtown Blue Springs for some sweet shots of the couple. Hermann is a old German town overlooking the Missouri River in the heart of the state. Their rehearsal dinner was delicious and full of laughter. They chose to say "I do" outside on the deck surrounded by the grape vines and (very) warm breeze of fall.
